چکیده

The maximum cut problem this paper deals with can be formulated as follows. Given an undirected simple graph G = (V,E) where V and E stand for the node and edge sets respectively, and given weights assigned to the edges: (wij)ij∈E , a cut δ(S), with S ⊆ V is de ned as the set of edges in E with exactly one endnode in S, i.e. δ(S) = {ij ∈ E | |S ∩ {i, j}| = 1}. The weight w(S) of the cut δ(S) is the sum of the weights of the edges it contains: w(S) = ∑ ij∈δ(S) wij . The problem is then to nd a cut with maximum weight.

Bounds for the Co-PI index of a graph

In this paper, we present some inequalities for the Co-PI index involving the some topological indices, the number of vertices and edges, and the maximum degree. After that, we give a result for trees. In addition, we give some inequalities for the largest eigenvalue of the Co-PI matrix of G.

Sharp Bounds on the PI Spectral Radius

In this paper some upper and lower bounds for the greatest eigenvalues of the PI and vertex PI matrices of a graph G are obtained. Those graphs for which these bounds are best possible are characterized.

Exact maximum coverage probabilities of confidence intervals with increasing bounds for Poisson distribution mean

‎A Poisson distribution is well used as a standard model for analyzing count data‎. ‎So the Poisson distribution parameter estimation is widely applied in practice‎. ‎Providing accurate confidence intervals for the discrete distribution parameters is very difficult‎. ‎So far‎, ‎many asymptotic confidence intervals for the mean of Poisson distribution is provided‎. ‎It is known that the coverag...

A New Second-order Cone Programming Relaxation for Max-cut Problems

We propose a new relaxation scheme for the MAX-CUT problem using second-order cone programming. We construct relaxation problems to reflect the structure of the original graph. Numerical experiments show that our relaxation gives better bounds than those based on the spectral decomposition proposed by Kim and Kojima [16], and that the efficiency of the branch-and-bound method using our relaxati...

Efficient Kernel Selection via Spectral Analysis

Kernel selection is a fundamental problem of kernel methods. Existing measures for kernel selection either provide less theoretical guarantee or have high computational complexity. In this paper, we propose a novel kernel selection criterion based on a newly defined spectral measure of a kernel matrix, with sound theoretical foundation and high computational efficiency. We first show that the s...
